Low Voltage Fuse Protection and Coordination
This online PDH video presentation discusses the protection of low voltage fuses and identifies voltage fuse classes. In addition, it discusses fuse interrupting current ratings, as well as fuse selectivity and Time-Current Curves (TCC) for various fuse classes.
This course also illustrates the protection of wires and cables, circuit breakers, motor start short circuit, overcurrent, and transformers. Furthermore, this video presentation describes fuse protection for DC systems as they differ from AC system fuses and depicts low voltage fuse protection standards for the various fuse classes.
This 1 PDH online video presentation is intended primarily for electrical engineers, as well as others who are interested in learning more about fuse protection, interrupting current ratings, fuse selectivity, and AC/DC fuse applications.
This continuing education video presentation is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Understanding the different types and classes of low voltage fuses
- Knowing how to select a fuse for an application based on the let-through energy of the fuse
- Understanding how to apply the protection coordination of low voltage fuses
- Knowing how to select the fuse to protect low voltage circuit breakers
- Knowing how to select the fuse for a DC application based on the Time Constant of the Circuit
