Soil Classification Essentials: Practical Insights for Engineers and Builders
Course Highlights

This online engineering CPD live webinar provides a comprehensive foundation for understanding various soil classification methods.

This course emphasizes the critical role soil properties play in influencing the design, safety, and cost of engineering projects. Mastering these classification systems is key to making informed decisions that ensure project success. The course explores the USDA, AASHTO, USCS, and OSHA soil classification systems, providing a detailed comparative analysis to demonstrate their applications in diverse engineering contexts. Participants will learn the principles and criteria of each system, enabling them to identify and apply the most appropriate classification method for specific project requirements.

Key geotechnical laboratory and field tests are also covered, including water content, Atterberg limits, grain size distribution, pocket penetrometer, and shear vane tests. To reinforce learning, the webinar incorporates examples from real-world engineering projects, illustrating the practical application of soil classification methods. By the conclusion of this course, participants will be well-prepared to implement these methods effectively, enhancing project reliability and performance. This expertise is invaluable for engineers aiming to advance their careers and broaden their capabilities in geotechnical, structural, and construction engineering.

This 1 CPD online live webinar is intended for engineers, builders, architects, project managers, QA professionals, academics, and students.
