Substation Fire/Damage - Grid Impact
Course Highlights

This online engineering PDH live webinar will establish, through slides and discussions, the importance of protecting substations from fires, storms, and the gird impact of the damage.

It is argued that substation is the most important piece of land that includes critical electric equipment, such as power transformers, instrument transformers, breakers, capacitors, shunt reactors, switches, SCADA and relays. Generation switchyard, transmission substations and distribution substations represent the pillars of civilization; it is clear from COVID-19 that life would stop without reliable electric power. Substations are expected to play a major role to accommodate the expected renewables’ widespread. Substation fires have a grave impact on the substation and associated grid, as a result, there are existing measures to prevent/minimize damage and ensure grid reliability.

This  2 PDH online live webinar is intended for electrical, renewable and sustainability engineers as well as others interested in learning more about protecting substations.
