In this course, participants will learn to apply practical financial calculations like time value of money (TVM), asset depreciation methods, capital investment metrics (NPV, IRR, ROI), and financial reports (Income Statements and Balance Sheets). The course also addresses cost classifications like life cycle cost analysis and inventory control, making it highly relevant for engineers involved in design and management roles.
This webinar is Part 2 of 2. The topics covered in this session include:
- Financial metrics, engineering economics and financial ratios including payback period, FV, PV, TVM conversions, IRR, ROI, NPPV, ROE, ROR, Current Ratio, Acid Test Ratio and Plant Turnover Ratio;
- Depreciation alternatives including S/L, Prod. Based, SOY Digits;
- Inventory concepts such as FIFO, LIFO, EOQ, Turnover Ratio, WIP, Carrying Costs;
- Lease vs Buy Decisions; and
- Life cycle costs, period costs and direct/indirect costs.
