William Watson

William Watson graduated with BEng Hons in Manufacturing Engineering and worked in the UK engineering industry for 10 years to senior levels in project engineering and project management in both automotive and general engineering companies. He has specialised in the area of industrial robotics and still maintains a great interest in this area. He has developed and delivered bespoke industrial robotics courses for a number of major industrial users such as Bombardier Aerospace, Caterpillar Power Generation, Ryobi (UK) Aluminium Castings, Mergon International, Emerson, Montupet (UK) Ltd, Sanmina, QUB, BEAerospace etc.He began lecturing full time in 2004 and is currently lecturing as a curriculum manager in a broad range of both mechanical/manufacturing and electrical/electronic engineering programmes. He has continued his professional development in education within the past 6 years, obtaining PGCFHE, PGDFHE and MSc educational qualifications and has a passion for flexible online learning. He is also currently completing a part-time PhD in automated manufacturing engineering (aerospace) and fully realises and appreciates the challenges faced by part-time learners whilst working. He has authored numerous online engineering courses and also currently tutors on a range of online engineering and science courses.
